The six-bladed cylinder is the cutting cartridge fitted to Fortis mowers as standard, and the one most owners buy as a spare or a replacement. Hardened steel blades give a clip rate of 95 cuts per metre at cut heights from 6mm to 30mm, which is the general-purpose setting for a lawn mown weekly through the season.
Cartridges swap over in minutes, so a second cutting cylinder means you can keep one sharpened and in reserve rather than losing the machine to a workshop in the middle of July. If you want a finer finish than this cartridge gives, step up to the 10-bladed fine turf cartridge, which cuts to 3mm.
Match the size to your machine: a 20in cartridge fits a 20in Fortis, and so on. The 34in cartridge fits the Stadium 34 only and does not interchange with the walk-behind Fortis range.
